SÉLIA, a sensual voice...
Sélia was five years old when she sang for the first time at a holiday club in Corsica. At ten, with her first guitar, she taught herself music, accompanying herself. But Sélia had a good schooling because her father was a drummer, so she’d been practicing rehearsals and concerts since childhood. She knew Bob Marley’s lyrics by heart, even before understanding English. And yet, it took years before she dared to sing in front of an audience…
It was a chance encounter with David Taylor, a producer and composer from Sète, that changed Sélia’s life. Seduced by her unique vocal timbre, he decided to take the young woman under his wing, like a high-level athlete’s coach. Working in the studio, writing, and recording, the duo brought each other’s talents—freshness and nonchalance, method and expertise—and worked tirelessly to create organic music. Their first EP, « Realize, » sealed this collaboration.
